Perfect GentlemanIn her dreams she was always shorn  and strip-faced. The kind of girl  that opens doors and pulls out chairs;  that wants a wife. But life doesn’t spin  like so many thumb-smoothed coppers,  it lists and veers and buckles; as prone  to balance as a duck’s egg. Urban SonnetI’d hoped to find some solace in these lines--  respite from living in the space between  the synapses, the margins of our minds  where kamikaze chemicals careen  into the vacuum. Can I dip beneath  and try to capture London’s gritty gray;  a fox’s russet swish and flashing teeth  when caught in taxi headlights--or the way  that midnight glows dull orange and that planes  are all there are to wish on? What a waste  of time: I’m cubicle bound already, chained  to the inevitable. You can hound  down truth, but you’ll still spend your empty days  losing your grip on what you almost Urban Sonnet

PlatoI'm sick of killing time. This long death burns  away the years without a scar or tan

so this is my journal eh?

I'm not really sure what the point of this thing is. I'll probably try and keep this as just a poetry storage place, although I am finding browsing worryingly addictive.

Thanks to everyone who has favourited and/or commented on My Family, I wasn't here but apparently it was featured or something, which I am assuming is a good thing, so it's great to get a little recognition, especially as I just joined. Thanks especially to PoeticWar who nominated me (or whatever happens).

I'm a bit under-mused at the moment, but I am trying to work on some old drafts and I have the odd gestating idea so hopefully there will be some new stuff coming soon. Also I start a poetry workshop course in October, so I hope there will be some good stuff coming out of that as well.

Now I really must go to bed, I have to get a job in the morning.

Hey Eloise, I see you got devious too. When I was a student I had the same interests as you, well except for the poetry part, I guess some of us grow up way faster than others ; -) My favourite film was and probably still is, The Life of Brian but I loved the RHPS too.

Looking forward to reading more
